Water Treatment Chemist

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To minimize plant Breakdowns & to provide the preventive maintenance solutions for good Water Treatment Plants (WTP) following the approved targets and plans.
  • Oversee the water treatment, Distribution, and daily operations of water treatment facilities.
  • Lead the Water Treatment Plant (RO-based) operations & comply with Prescribed Operation Standards by regular testing the water supply and up-keeping records.
  • Support the water treatment section head on preparation of Budget for plant economical operation with regular monitoring & reporting.
  • Carry out plant operation in a safe and smooth manner as per the established standard operation procedures.
  • Implement preventive maintenance practices of WTP, usage of chemicals.
  • Erection & commissioning and O&M activities of Water treatment plant.
  • Preparation of Daily, Monthly and Yearly reports for effective operation of WTP Plant, utilization of Chemicals & consumables.
  • Leading the Operation from water treatment CCR, Maintenance/Calibration of WTP Lab and Chemical Lab Instruments.
  • Operation & Monitoring of WTP (RO-DM, Demineralized Water, Soft Water, Dosing systems and chemical materials stock) & Chemical Lab.
  • Organize the plan for sample collection with frequency and assure the SOPs for the process. Execute the needed analysis and report to water treatment section head.
  • Calibration of all lab equipment and instrumentations.
  • Control chemicals and lab consumables stocks and prepare the needed procurement plan.
  • Frequent reporting and logging of water treatment and reporting to the water treatment section head about the shift main outcomes and detailed events to facilitate the decision-making process for the operation section head on evaluating the gaps in design & operating parameters and identifying the scope of improvement.
  • Maintain awareness of the automation system control strategy and make recommendations for continuous improvement to maintain plant operational efficiency.
  • Maintain appropriate logbook for proper communication, shift hand over & take over and record purpose to ensure the timely and quality completion of improvement actions and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.

Job Qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience.
  • Experience in engineering, installation and operation of power plants/water treatment & DM plants is mandatory. 


Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in operation, problem solving and creativity, decision making process in teamwork.
  • Fluency in English
