Utilities Engineer

Job Overview:

Maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of various machines, utilities, and tools in the plant. Ensure the availability of crucial spare parts. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Conduct mechanical maintenance activities on all utilities equipment, contributing to the attainment of monthly and annual production targets and assisting in trouble shooting and improvement of plant reliability.
  • Contribute to optimize the compressed air network energy.
  • Contribute to improve the quality of the compressed air in terms of separation and dryness. 
  • Familiar of dealing with different types of compressed air, water, heavy fuel oil networks.
  • Work to eliminate any source of air leak in the plant compressed air network.
  • Monitor the running hours of each single equipment related to utilities department and act accordingly to make its related maintenance.
  • Assure the needed spares for the routine maintenance and communicate with the planners accordingly to adapt its availability time.
  • Familiar of dealing with different types of all related equipment and items like compressors, blowers, pumps, fans, cooling towers , piping , regulators,  valves , gates, … etc.
  • Perform all preventive mechanical maintenance activities, including major shutdowns to establish standards of quality production and reliability are met, within agreed cost parameters 
  • Provide mechanical engineering assistance to plant personnel across manufacturing process to diffuse technical knowledge and expertise for running the machinery more optimally by minimizing technical troubles and improving the plant performance towards world class levels 
  • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency of the maintenance activities by providing analytical reporting of results, including services from external suppliers, focusing on identifying areas for improvement to identify the most suitable suppliers of spare parts and services that meet company standards 
  • Cooperate with technical and other internal departments, for information exchange aiming to develop effective work relationships and increase of maintenance effectiveness 
  • Contribute to the definition of spare parts list and determination of spare parts ordering and stock levels to ensure maintenance of plant operational efficiency by reviewing such levels periodically 
  • Upload all relevant information to the computer monitored maintenance system 
  • Review the spare parts received from suppliers by securing that meet company standards and operational needs 
  • Review and evaluate in cooperation with the production department the operating conditions of the plant by identifying and preventing malfunctions to provide solutions for improvement 
  • Follow the appropriate health, safety and environmental practices in area of responsibility, identifying and reporting issues of consideration in order to meet company, corporate and governmental standards (SAP-PM) to keep track of all measurement results 
  • Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs 
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance 
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or any equivalent 

Experience:

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in field 

Technical:  

  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance management methods of predictive inspection tools (SAP & AutoCAD)
  • Very good knowledge of cement products and cement production processes 
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
  • Proficient in MS Office
