Suez Cement donates computers to support education
Within the framework of its social responsibility strategy and commitment to support institutions of the society, Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC) launched an initiative to donate rehabilitated computers to El-Tebbin Education Department in order to be distributed to the schools surrounding Helwan cement plant.
The initiative also aims at protecting and improving quality of environment through minimizing the negative impacts of unsafe disposal of computers by individuals and institutions through dealing with them as wastes. This step achieves societal commitment towards the charitable work through encouraging different categories of society to donate computers and related accessories for reutilization.
For his part, the General Manager of El-Tebbin Education Department Dr. Sheriff Rashad praised the initiative launched by SCGC, thanking the Group for its sustainable and non-stop role in supporting education where it renovated and developed the infrastructure for a number of schools, maintained furniture of schools surrounding the company and paid the tuition fees.
Dr. Rashad stressed that the private sector should play its role in keeping the economic and social balance. He urged companies to follow the example of SCGC and adopt the social objectives which contribute in development of the educational system.
Accordingly, SCGC is proud of its leading role in raising awareness of the positive impact of merging and applying goals of sustainable development in the company’s labor strategies.
