EEAA CEO, Environment Ministry’s senior officials pay inspection tours to Tourah and Helwan plants
Within the framework of the Environment Ministry’s interest to tighten control, reduce sources of pollution and apply plans of reform ad environment compliance, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) Dr. Mohamed Salah, Head of EEAA Regional Branches Affairs Sector Eng. Ayman Sheta, the General Manager of Central Inspection Mohamed Farouk and a number of senior officials of the Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs visited Tourah Cement Company and Helwan Cement Company.
On September 7 and 8, the manager of Tourah cement plant Eng. Omar Khorshid, the manager of Helwan cement plant Eng. Ahmad Ragaei and a number of managers, workers and technicians in the two plants welcomed the delegations upon arrival to the plants.
The visitors made a tour inside different sections of the two plants, which was coupled with a detailed explanation, in order to know the work progress and the procedures taken by the managements of the two plants to improve the work environment and mitigate the environmental impact of the two plants.
The senior officials lauded the exerted efforts to minimize emissions with the aim of protecting the public health of citizens and mitigate the negative impacts of severe climate change, known as the “black cloud” period.
