Helwan cement plant welcomes GUC students

Students of the Department of Architecture and Urban Design at the Faculty of Engineering in the German University in Cairo (GUC) paid a visit to Helwan cement plant with the aim of learning about the industry of cement, different types of cement, the raw materials used in cement manufacturing and the laboratory experiments on cement before and after production to ensure its validity and conformity to specifications. 
At the beginning of the visit, GUC students attended a lecture on safety instructions. In a presentation for the students, the plant’s work team explained steps of cement manufacturing, sections of the plant and key cement products. The visitors were accompanied in a field tour inside the plant starting by the quarry and ending by the last stage of industrialization. 
The visitors were also briefed about the safety measures applied by the company with the purpose of maintaining safety of employees. They toured a number of other operating facilities in the company in order to know different cement-related services and operations.
