Suez Cement Group Contributes to Rescue Effort Following Egypt Floods
Cairo, 2 February 2010. The Group mobilized $150,000 towards relief operations
Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC), the largest cement producer in Egypt, today announced a cash contribution of $150,000 USD to support victims of the flash floods that struck the Sinai Peninsula and Upper Egypt earlier in January 2010.
This fund, will be used immediately for relief and rehabilitation effort.

Today, with parts of Egypt were ravaged by the rainy floods, lending a helping hand to our people in suffering areas comes atop our priority list’, commented Roberto Callieri, Managing Director of Suez Cement.
Suez Cement is a key player in the cement production in Egypt with industrial network of five plants in Helwan, Suez and El-Minya and annual production capacity of around 12 million meteoric tons of cement. As a committed and responsible business, SCGC has spent more than LE10 million on community support initiatives over the past three years.
