Senior Buyer

Job Purpose
Responsible for sourcing and purchasing spare parts & consumables in support of the company's operational needs, negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, and ensuring that materials meet the required quality and are delivered on time.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify, source, and purchase local and foreign spare parts such as mechanical parts, Motors, couplings, etc.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring the availability of quality spares at competitive prices.  
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable contracts and cost-effective procurement.  
  • Ensure all spare parts meet the necessary quality standards and comply with environmental and regulatory requirements.  
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies in spare parts procurement while maintaining high-quality standards.  
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to make sure that all needed specs are available.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on delivery schedules, quality, and pricing, taking corrective actions when necessary.  
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, average yearly consumption, supplier performance, and cost savings to the Category Manager.
  • Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs.      
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc

Qualifications and Experience
Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS) is preferred.

Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, preferably in spare parts and operating materials.
  • Previous experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships is required

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of raw material procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, SAP Ariba).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
