Senior Project Manager

Job Purpose
Managing, planning, utilizing resources & cooperate with different departments and plants in order to achieve the group strategic goals by executing the projects all over Heidelberg Materials Egypt group of plants, with the highest level of safety and quality, within the planned time and budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Cooperate with the plants investment managers to evaluate the investment proposals from all departments to ensure that they are complete, accurate and comply with company requirements.
  • Consolidate all the plants proposals and conduct several discussions meetings with the plant managers, corporate disciplines and top management to prioritize the projects and conclude the final CAPEX proposals aligned with the group directions and real needs for plants continuous operation.
  • Assure that the CAPEX approval cycle is aligned with group standards considering the full control of the supporting documents, payback analysis, project execution and accounting plan to align with main project objectives and facilitate and assure the acceptance of all approvers.
  • Ensure monthly CAPEX reports are accomplished by project owners to ensure the accuracy of information.
  • Adjust proactive approach in identifying issues and risks within projects and take appropriate steps to mitigate and/or resolve within project team.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Direct and manage medium/ large/ear-marked projects development from conception till completion, all Plants.
  • Attend technical meetings and discussions with Bidders in order to finalize the projects scope & offers.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered safely, on-time, within budget, with the highest quality within contract specifications.
  • Form, Manage, lead, monitor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors.
  • Preparing project OTR, technical studies and all related documents for project approval.
  • Collecting requirements and sharing the project main scope with the plant in order to be included in the OTR.
  • Implementing the required site surveys and studies in order to assure from the execution of the project and detect any obstacles, when needed.
  • Participate and cooperate with the procurement department in the contract preparation.
  • Reviewing and approving all engineering documents, time schedules, and technical reports received from the contractors during the project life cycle.  
  • Monitoring and controlling project progress, schedule, deliverables and invoices.      
  • Estimate resources and delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personal to achieve project goals.
  • Managing, controlling & attending on-site activities, start-up, and commissioning phases till handing over the project successfully to the plant.
  • Assure that all project documentations & lifecycle is going as per the scope/contract.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team, project managers & contractors, when needed.
  • Monitoring & evaluating the performance of the mechanical projects team members.
  • Monitoring & controlling the contractor performance during all the project life cycle.
  • Attending the meetings with the contractors in order to identify and manage project conflicts, obstacles and critical path when needed, taking corrective actions with the contractors.
  • Issuing warning letters and involving the procurement department in case of inadequate performance of contractors.
  • Evaluating the contractor performance after project completion and sharing the result with the Procurement & supplier qualification departments.
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.


Job Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred mechanical engineering or any equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in field (preferably cement industry experience).

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance management methods of predictive inspection tools (SAP & AutoCAD).
  • Very good knowledge of cement products and cement production processes.
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
  • Professional studies and courses in Project Management. PMP® certified is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
