Electrical Section Head
Job Purpose
Control the accurate execution of the electrical maintenance activities by optimizing its execution and providing all the necessary support to electrical department to support the efficient and cost effective operation of the plant.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Overview and control that all electrical equipment in area of responsibility, operate within the specified parameters and technical characteristics to ensure high quality of product and optimization of production cost.
- Control that the approved maintenance schedule, including major shutdowns, of all electrical infrastructure is accurately executed, and that the necessary resources for the everyday maintenance activities are available, thus supporting the continuous operation of the production.
- Follow-up all electrical maintenance procedures by evaluating their effectiveness and proposing improvements to enable the electrical maintenance to function in an optimum and efficient way.
- Evaluate the work performed and delivered from his team and vendors by providing all the necessary support for its efficient and timely execution and ensuring that equipment is in good operating condition and fully inspected, tested and ready to meet operational requirements.
- Optimize the electrical maintenance operation of the plant by adjusting accordingly the schedule and execution of maintenance activities and using best available tools and procedures to maximize equipment availability and increase the production’s end products.
- Develop analytical reporting on the results of all relevant maintenance activities, e.g. consumption of materials, specific tools, man hours, identification and resolution of issues to assist in assessing the operational effectiveness of the department.
- Conduct electrical operational assessment by executing proactive maintenance operations, identifying issues of consideration and proceeds to all the adequate steps and actions when electrical incidents occur.
- Motivate, develop and manage his team in a way to ensure high level of initiative, cooperation and personal development opportunities.
- Upload all relevant information to the computer monitored maintenance system (SAP-PM) to keep track of all measurement results.
- Ensure that safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by the Maintenance department employees and subcontractors.
- Follow the appropriate health, safety and environmental practices in area of responsibility, identifying and reporting issues of consideration in order to meet company, corporate and governmental standards. Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs.
- Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance.
- Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.
Job Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or systems engineering within the cement or heavy industry sector.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity With Speed Control Drives Low Voltage (ACS 600, ACS800, ACS 880)
- Familiarity With MV Speed Control Drives ACS1000 Water Cooled
- Familiarity With MV Switchgear ABB (HP and Unigear)
- Good working knowledge of SA
- Good Awareness by IEC and NEMA Standard
- Understanding of contractual matters (negotiation and legal aspects)
- Good investment market pricing knowledge and cost awareness
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and project management, problem solving and creativity, strategic thinking, and decision making.
- Familiar with PLC/DCS and HMI architecture, in particular, Cemat S7 software and hardware
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including MS Excel, Word, Access, and Project
- Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
