Helwan cement plant achieves one year with zero Lost Time Injuries for workers and contractors

The Helwan cement plant, on April 8, 2020, succeeded to achieve, a full one year with zero Lost Time Injuries for the workers and contractors.

“This achievement reflects commitment by all employees and contractors to the behaviors and practices of safe work. It shows that the culture of occupational safety is deeply rooted in the Group’s plants and it should be a basic life style ”, said Suez Cement Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jose Maria Magrina commenting on this achievement.Jose Maria added that the final objective is not to set records or achieve statistics, but to create a safe working environment to ensure safety of all workers in a way that helps them go back safe to their homes and families after a hard day in work. 

   
For his part, Suez Cement Group Health & Safety Director Mohamed Shoala said that “dedicating more time and performing more inspections coupled with the sincere efforts exerted by everyone have led us to achieve this record today". Furthermore, he stressed this achievement has been realized only through full application of the safety instructions and rules.

 "The personal commitment, reporting and follow-up of dangerous and unsafe conditions are the cornerstone of our work”, Shoala said.
