Health & Safety Technician
Job Purpose:
Implement area safety activities to improve the existing safety procedures to align with the company’s Health and Safety procedures and policies, in order to promote safe working conditions. participate in the H&S trainings, safety investigations to maintain a safe work environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Implement the H&S policies and procedures to align area’s operations with corporate H&S standards and safety objectives.
- Review the operations of the work area in order to assess their H&S status and to report any issues identified to his section head to take corrective actions.
- Provide the necessary data and reports to support the management decision making to create a safe work environment.
- Participate in investigations on all accidents and incidents that occur in the area and proposes preventive measures in order to avoid reparative accidents.
- Coordinate with the plant personnel so that established safety standards are met within agreed parameters.
- Cooperate with technical department for information exchange to develop effective work relationships throughout the whole site.
- Provide consultant services, technical knowledge and advice to all levels of employee in the areas of safety to promote H&S culture within the manufacturing process.
- Implement appropriate drills for evacuation of the workplace to minimize any unsafe situation.
- Collect and report all, reports, statistics and recordkeeping procedures regarding H&S according to internal and external requirements for the H&S Manager to analyse and take the accurate safety precautions.
- Maintain safety publicities such as signs, posters, displays on work area to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct and assist in the orientation of new employees to inform them of their safety responsibilities to create a safe work environment.
- Follow up plant PPE needs & consumption to all organization, contractors and external visitors to assure that visitors and contractors are properly informed about site hazards and regulations.
- Participate in safety audits on sites / entities as per the group strategy to have immediate action to correct any unsafe condition.
- Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs.
- Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance.
- Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.
Job Qualifications:
- Education:
Technical Diploma
- Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years professional experience in the field of Health & Safety in a heavy industry
Preferred:
- Safety training certificates in occupational Safety (preferred).
- Certificate in Health & Safety technician
- Proficient in MS Office, Google software.
