Sustainability Commitments 2030
The HeidelbergCement Sustainability Commitments 2030 define the key topics and core principles of the future sustainability strategy at HeidelbergCement. With the Sustainability Commitments we also set ourselves clear targets to be achieved by 2030.
Driving Economic Strength and Innovation
“We will ensure sustainable profitability through the effective management of all processes and resources and the continuing innovation of products and services.”
Achieving Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety
Reducing our Environmental Footprint
Enabling the Circular Economy
“We conserve our natural reserves by continuously increasing the use of alternative resources as substitutes for natural raw materials.”
Being a Good Neighbour
“We are committed to supporting the social and economic development of our neighbouring communities and ensure transparent communication to all our stakeholders.”
Ensuring Compliance and Creating Transparency
“We adhere to international human rights, anti-corruption and labour standards and co-operate pro-actively in an open and transparent manner with all our stakeholders.”
The Sustainability Commitments 2030 build on and succeed the HeidelbergCement Sustainability Ambitions 2020. Embracing a wider scope of responsibilities in corporate sustainability management, they will drive us to continually improve as we contribute to building a better world for 2030 and beyond.
HeidelbergCement supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals
We have aligned our Sustainability Commitments 2030 with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) enacted 2015 by the UN General Assembly, which have been adopted by all 193 member states. The SDGs aim to end extreme poverty, fight injustice and protect our planet with 17 goals set out for 2030.
For HeidelbergCement, supporting the SDGs means fulfilling our share of the global responsibility to tackle the world’s most pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges.
