Lawyer Section Head

Job Purpose
Responsible among other requirements manages complex legal cases from setting the solution strategies to implementation thereof. Provide proper legal opinions and advice in all legal matters, representing the company and the Group in Egypt in all litigation matters.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and handle all the litigation process, from setting the solution strategies to implementation thereof including the ability to handle the related administrative procedures.
  • Proactively, detect, identify and mitigate risks in all cases and matters from a legal point of view.
  • Provide proper legal opinions and advice in all legal matters.
  • Conduct proper legal research and analysis to properly support the business. 
  • Represent the company in courts and governmental and non-governmental entities.
  • Identify key issues and develop arguments to support the company’s position. 
  • Stay up to date with changes in laws, regulations in general and specifically those related to the business and the company’s interests.
  • Report to the Senior legal manager on a regular basis as determined by the Senior Legal Manager with all updates concerning legal matters related to the company and assigned tasks.  
  • Initiate and pursue all legal proceedings as instructed by the Senior Legal Manager
  • Draft and prepare memorandums and attend before all types of courts to defend the company.
  • Advise on corporate related matters, including commercial and labor issues to provide answers to all relevant legal enquiries.
  • Maintain a database of the status of the given tasks and all court cases matters involving the company jointly with the Senior Legal Manager.
  • Undertake and conduct internal/external legal investigations in relation to labor and other matters.
  • Assist with corporate secretarial matters (BODs, OGMs, EGMs, commercial register…etc.)
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance. 
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of HC Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.

Job Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or any equivalent 
  • MBA in an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years professional experience as a lawyer, with at least 5 years of experience in litigation.
  • Proven track record of success in complex litigation cases.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
