WHR Power Plant: Electrical Site Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities
A. Project Phase

  • Oversee /review WHR power plant failsafe design. (Control /Power schemes)
  • Statutory compliance especially compliance of authority’s regulations and quality standards, safety and Environment Regulation.
  • Review of WHR power plant electrical engineering e.g. technical specifications for LT/HT equipment’s, layout engineering, cable schedules, PID, Control schemes and sub-control systems etc.
  • Oversee/review of necessary interfaces between other sections, systems to main power plant equipment’s.
  • Oversee /review WHR power plant power distribution/co-ordination scheme.
  • Electrical erection of WHR Power Plant and understanding of site safety requirements  
  • Co-ordination with inter departments /vendors/contractors etc.
  • Daily and weekly reporting to the site electrical manager.
  • Execute the Project as per the execution plan. 
  • Checking the contractor’s bills.
  • Quality inspection at site and contractors works. 
  • Conduct commissioning, performance tests of major electrical equipment and also such as Boiler, Turbine, Condenser, and Cooling tower, DM Plant etc. and take over the responsibility of WHR Power Plant for electrical operations/maintenance.

B. Plant Operations

  • Operation and Maintenance safety requirements
  • Planning, scheduling and execution of the preventive maintenance activity
  • Improvement in the reliability, availability and maintainability for all electrical equipment
  • Planning, scheduling and execution of the Shut Down activity.
  • Predictive and preventive Electrical maintenance plan in SAP-PM. Preventive maintenance plan elaboration and improvements for the spare parts from the Warehouse in cooperation with the planner.
  • Electrical Spare parts planning
  • Participate the stoppage analysis and RCFAs.
  • Exploring better maintenance technologies and methods in order to improve the reliability and reduce the maintenance costs and repair procedure’s improvements accordingly.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and decisions in cooperation with the inspectors and Production Department
  • Creating and updating a formal Critical Condition Levels system for major pieces of equipment within the plant.
  • Providing training to the workers for the new pieces of equipment
  • Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs.     
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance. 
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.

Job Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years professional experience in the maintenance of HT/LT electrical equipment. 
  • Experience in Engineering and Installation of Power Plants/process plants is desirable.  

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulation. 
  • Project management, problem solving and creativity, decision making process in teamwork.
  • Fluency in English.
