Senior Automation Engineer

Job Purpose
Ensure the accuracy of the execution of the automation maintenance activities by optimizing its execution and providing all the necessary support to the automation department to maintain the efficient and cost-effective operation of the plant.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise all the automation equipment in area of responsibility, operate within the specified parameters and technical characteristics to ensure high quality of product and optimization of production cost.
  • Control that the approved maintenance schedule by including major shutdowns, of all electrical and automation infrastructure is accurately executed, and that the necessary resources for the everyday maintenance activities are available to support the continuous operation of the production. 
  • Follow-up all automation maintenance procedures by evaluating their effectiveness and proposing improvements to enable the automation maintenance to function in an optimum and efficient way.
  • Evaluate the work performed and delivered from his team and vendors by providing all the necessary support for its efficient and timely execution and ensuring that equipment is in good operating condition and fully inspected, tested and ready to meet operational requirements.
  • Optimize the automation maintenance operation of the plant by adjusting accordingly the schedule and execution of maintenance activities, using best available tools and procedures to maximize equipment availability and increase the production’s end products.  
  • Develop analytical reporting on the results of all relevant maintenance activities, e.g. consumption of materials, specific tools, man hours, identification and resolution of issues, thus assisting in assessing the operational effectiveness of the department
  • Conduct electrical operational assessment by executing proactive maintenance operations, identifying issues of consideration and proceeds to all the adequate steps and actions when electrical incidents occur.
  • Participate in the identification of departments needs and support his/her supervisor in the development of the department’s annual budget.
  • Motivate, develop and manage his team in a way that ensures high level of initiative, cooperation and personal development opportunities.  
  • Ensure that safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented and consistently followed by the Maintenance department employees and subcontractors. 
  • Follow the appropriate health, safety and environmental practices in area of responsibility, identifying and reporting issues of consideration in order to meet company, corporate and governmental standards.    
  • Upload all relevant information to the computer monitored maintenance system (SAP-PM) to keep track of all measurement results. 
  • Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs.      
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance. 
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.

Job Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or any equivalent.

Experience 

  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience in field of electrical or project management in the cement industry.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance management methods of predictive inspection tools (SAP & AutoCAD)
  • Very good knowledge of cement products and cement production processes 
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulation
  • Familiar with PLC/DCS and HMI architecture, in particular, Cemat S7 software and hardware.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google software
