Senior Buyer

Job Purpose
Prepare and execute tenders in a wide range of scope under his area of responsibility to support the Lead Buyer manage the categories of spend, analyze large volumes of data and provide executive summary reports for presentation & forecast and monitor suppliers performance against agreed PO/Contract terms.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with all internal functions including but not limited to Shared Service Centre and Finance to provide timely and accurate forecasting data as required.
  • Manage own portfolio of categories, carrying out effective negotiations to achieve optimum terms & conditions of supply (responsible for avg. annual spend over 500 MEGP)
  • Monitor the use of negotiated contracts and provide support to users as required to ensure that the Purchase to Pay process is efficient.
  • Interact with all relevant suppliers & sites to resolve any supply & invoicing problems.
  • Capture the results of all negotiations in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures and assist in the uploading of relevant information into the online tracking tool.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Team to ensure that all relevant supply contracts are correctly established in the Purchase Order Processing systems to enable the business to raise its purchase requirements without difficulty
  • Maintain the contract management system to ensure that all documents are properly stored & all stakeholders are kept informed of validity.
  • Work closely with other colleagues of the department to ensure correct promotion of all contracts established with own responsibility.
  • Participate or lead ad-hoc projects that may go beyond formal accountabilities to satisfy and respond accordingly to business needs.      
  • Proactively manage Health & Safety process and procedures to achieve the company ambition of ‘0 Lost Time Injuries’ and to continuously improve the company's Health & Safety performance. 
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing trainings, monitoring compliance etc.

Job Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, logistics or any equivalent 

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in working as a buyer preferably in the similar industry.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including SAP
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing contracts and negotiation terms.
  • Experience in Cement Logistics Procurement.
